Gear
There are literally hundreds of options with a lot of this gear. As you become more familiar with the sport, you will have your own opinions and experiences with what works well for you. These are simply ideas to get you going. At the very basic level, however; pads, gloves, a helmet, and of course, a unicycle, are absolutely essential. Personally, I feel the more pads the better, especially in the beginning. It only takes one fall to put a huge gash on your shin, or to lose most of the skin on the palm of your hand. An explanation about head injuries simply isn’t necessary.
