What is MUni?
MUni stands for mountain unicycling. To a beginner unicyclist, this may sound intimidating, but as with many outdoor activities, a unicyclist can take this as far as they wish. On the more mellow end of things, one can MUni on a mellow forest service road or even a local urban dirt trail. As for the extreme side of mUni, well, the sky is the limit. The Front Range area is littered with expert level trails that would test the most skilled riders, even Kris Holm. So if you want to test your skills, go find yourself a lovely rock garden on Dakota Ridge Trail, or Apex Trail and hold on for the ride of your life. Don’t forget, you can always hike it.
The physical demand of MUni is fairly extreme, but the rewards are as well. It strengthens your core muscles and hones your balance. In addition, similar to cycling on two wheels, MUni provides a great cardiovascular workout. The skills gained from MUni transfer over to many other sports, such as skiing, motocross, and martial arts to name a few. Basically, MUni can help improve your skills in any sport that benefits from having good balance.
